The Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum was inaugurated on October 8, 1992 to house one of the finest and most prestigious private collections in the world. one of the finest and most prestigious private collections in the world. The Thyssen-Bornemisza family, this collection was acquired by the Spanish State in July 1993 and comprises a chronological arc that spans from the late thirteenth century to the decade of the eighties of the twentieth century. The visit begins with the medieval Italians to continue with Renaissance and Baroque manifestations. It is the only museum in Madrid with such a long chronological axis.
