Admire the traditional 12th and 13th-century architecture, visit the city’s most famous art museum, and explore this UNESCO World Heritage site’s most popular landmarks. As an added bonus, enjoy an authentic Spanish lunch in one of the best spots in the city. On the morning of the tour, your driver will pick you up directly from your accommodation, and you will set course towards the fascinating city of Toledo. The journey from Madrid to Toledo only takes around an hour, so sit back, enjoy the free snacks on board, and admire the beautiful Spanish scenery. Although every aspect of your tour is customizable, and points of interest can be added or taken away, the following itinerary is one we suggest as a base. Once you arrive in Toledo, your first stop will be in the Jewish Quarter. Get out of the car, stretch your legs, and take in all the stunning 13th-century architecture. In this area, you will find the oldest standing synagogue in Europe, Santa Maria La Blanca. Once the city’s beloved synagogue, now a fascinating museum showing the cooperation of the three cultures that populated Toledo: Christian, Islamic, and Jewish. A few streets away you will also see the 12th-century Toledo Cathedral. If the lovely painting on display in St. Tome Church sparks your interest, then your driver can take you to the Museo de Greco, found just a few blocks away. This fabulous museum is designed to look like the house that Greco himself lived out his life in, in Toledo. Here you can find many of his later pieces, along with the artifacts that inspired him to create those beautiful pieces of art. Once you have finished admiring the work of El Greco, it is time to pause for a lunch break. Your driver will happily recommend a restaurant for you to enjoy your Spanish lunch, or you can explore the city a little and find a place that suits you. After your delicious meal, you will head over to the Old Town to see the spectacular Cathedral of Saint Mary of Toledo. This 13th-century Cathedral is considered by experts as the magnum opus of the High Gothic style found throughout Spain. With its jaw-dropping architecture, intricate engravings, and masterful incorporation of light, this cathedral is a must-see when in Toledo. Your next stop will take you over the Alcázar of Toledo, offering great views of the medieval town. At this point, you can choose to spend the rest of your time exploring the city of Toledo, perhaps doing a little souvenir shopping and sampling some of the famous candy made by local nuns, or you can take a stop at Mirador de Valle or San Martin's Bridge to take memorable photos of your trip! At the end of your visit to Toledo, your friendly driver will drop you off back at your hotel or apartment.
